How I came about this Guava Pastry – Pastelitos de Guayaba Treat

I only came about this guava pastry puff recipe recently through a chef friend of mine – Chef Alexis Hernandez (@theothersideofthestove). He made a batch of these pastelitos de guayaba guava pastry treats and shared a story on Instagram about it. In true chef Alex style, he challenged me to come up with a different version of the guava pastry – or to put a twist on this amazing guava pastry treat. Of course, I did, and came up with a version that includes some lime zest and lime juice. It tastes yum yum delicioso!

In all honesty, the guava pastry is perfect on its own, but the addition of the lime zest and lime juice kicks it up a notch! The bright and vibrant flavor of the lime cuts into the sweetness of the guava paste and will make your taste buds sing with joy!

This guava white tea lemonade was inspired by the original Starbucks recipe. Unfortunately, Starbucks took white tea drinks off their menu, and it is no longer available for purchase. They have now replaced it with an Iced Black tea drink.

Fortunately enough, my recipe is easy enough to make at home, So there’s no need to go hunting for the closest Starbucks.
